Tips for an impeccable shop window

Your window display is your first opportunity to grab your customers’ attention and draw them inside your shop. That’s why we bring you five tips to get the most out of your shop window:

1. Lighting

The right lighting is the cornerstone of your shop window. To attract attention, we recommend using spotlights to focus attention on key products that you want to highlight. In addition, you can light using different angles and colours depending on the style of the shop window or what you want to highlight.

You can choose between general lighting of the whole, if you have created a window display that revolves around a concept or scenery, or more focused lighting to highlight a specific product within a minimalist environment.

2. Creativity

The first step is to choose a focal point at eye level, which is the first thing your customers will see. From there, we advise you to add different heights, layers and eye-catching elements. Use your creativity combined with the essence of your brand to get customers to stare at the window for as long as possible.

3. Send a message

Place posters, signs and/or LED screens to send a message to passers-by. Take advantage of this resource to give additional information about products, offers, opening hours, promotions or simply to accompany the scenery and the initial concept of the shop window.

We recommend placing the signage in the upper left-hand area of the visual space, as it is a place that stands out. Use clear and concise phrases or words to avoid an excess of information that detracts from the star products.

4. Create sensations

The distribution of the products in the shop window is another of the most important points. To create a feeling in your customers, we recommend grouping products by line, style, model or colour.

When choosing where to place each object in the shop window, you have to take into account the most important visual lines. In this sense, products placed at eye level are those that will acquire greater prominence, followed by those placed at hand level.

5. Update it

Trends are changing faster and faster, so your shop window should change too. You must keep up to date with what’s new at all times so that you don’t fall behind and can always have a shop window that stands out.

To keep it relevant we recommend updating it every 3 weeks if your shop is medium-large or every 2 months if it is a small business.
